Thanks for reading my first ever blog! We just finished an awesome practice, and I helped myself to a delicious steak for lunch afterwards. I love competition Fridays. Every drill is competitive, and our players get really fired up for it and love competing for the right to wear the black jerseys.

I’m disappointed that we lost today, but we’re going to work hard to get those black jerseys back next week.

I’m really pleased with practice so far. A lot of the young guys are starting to step up, and our vets are doing an great job of showing the rest of the defense how they need to play. Players who come to the forefront and have really caught my eye are: Casey Matthews, Spencer Paysinger, Eddie Pleasant, Will Tukuafu, Blake Ferras who has really improved, Brandon Bair, and Walter Thurmond who is having a tremendous spring. TJ Ward has been a little banged up, but we know he’s a heck of a football player.

I’m going to spend the rest of today watching this film, grading our players and figuring out a way to get the defense back in black.

Tomorrow, I’m hoping it’s another beautiful day so I can get a round of golf in, then take my wife to dinner and a movie. Then, on Sunday, I’m going to couch it, and watch every bit of the Masters. Come on Tiger!

It’s also Easter Sunday, so we’ll have a nice family dinner which I am really looking forward to.
