Steve Greatwood - Offensive Line

Steve Greatwood or Coach “Wood” is in his 25th year at the University of Oregon and his 29th season in the profession. In addition to his extensive career at Oregon, Coach Greatwood has coached offensive line at USC, Maryland, and the St. Louis Rams. Coach Wood tutors an offensive line that has helped the Ducks lead the Pacific-10 Conference in rushing four years in a row. Coach Wood has been incredibly successful at getting his lineman to the NFL. In the 2009 NFL Draft Coach Greatwood had two linemen selected in Max Unger (2nd Round) and Fenuki Tupou (5th Round).

Coach Greatwood’s success recently earned him 2008 Offensive Line Coach of the Year honors by footballscoop.com. In the last two years Coach Greatwood has developed All Pac-10 linemen Max Unger, Fenuki Tupuo, Geoff Schwartz, and Josh Tschirgi as well as honorable mention Mark Lewis.

Off the Field…

Coach Wood loves to snow ski, water ski and wakeboard at his cabin in Triangle Lake, Oregon. Steve Greatwood lives with his wife Sheri and has three daughters, Kallie, Tessa, and Emmy. Coach Greatwood is a Eugene native, attending Churchill high school and playing football at the University of Oregon from 1976-1980.
