Few coaches have been as successful developing talent over the past 23 years as Don Pellum. In all, Pellum has been credited with much of the development of 19 Pac-10 All-league honorees in the last 15 seasons. In 2007, Coach Pellum’s linebackers dominated college football, helping lead the nation in tackles for loss. In 2008, Coach Pellum assembled a linebacking corps that helped the Ducks rank fifth nationally in tackles for loss as well as 10th in the nation in turnovers forced and fumbles recovered. Last year, DP’s linebackers may have been his best to date. Coach Pellum’s backers were the heart and soul of a defense that led the Pac-10 in rush defense, pass defense, total defense, and red zone defense.
